Harry Wolff

Harry Wolff III is a shareholder with SCS, whose practice focuses on wealth preservation and tax, succession and estate planning matters.

He specializes in preparing coordinated estate plans for high net-worth individuals and families and owners of closely held businesses and mineral interests, designed to minimize federal estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer, and income taxes. However, he also prepares “simple” wills, trust agreements, and ancillary documents.

He counsels executors and trustees in the performance of their duties, including the preparation, filing, and audit of United States Estate (and Generation-Skipping Transfer Tax) Returns (Form 706) and United States Gift (and Generation-Skipping Transfer Tax) Returns (Form 709), and advises trust and estate beneficiaries with respect to their rights and responsibilities.

He routinely assists with the formation and operation of closely held businesses for tax, succession, and asset-protection purposes and works with clients to ensure that these entities are properly structured and coordinated with their estate plans.

His practice also includes the formation, operation, and governance of tax-exempt organizations, as well as issues related to charitable contributions, unrelated business income, private inurement, director liability, and related representation before the Office of the Attorney General of Texas.

Harry is board certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is a frequent speaker on related topics at conferences and meetings around the state. He is a member of the San Antonio Estate Planners Council, the Estate Planners Council of Central Texas, and the Real Estate, Probate, and Trust Law and Tax Law Sections of the State Bar of Texas.
